The movie, Mulan, was one of Disney’s first times dealing with characters in the Orient.  The movie takes place in China, where a female wants to join and fight in the army.  However, the Chinese army in the movie was for men only, so the girl, named Mulan, dressed like a boy and pretended to be one so that she could join and fight for her country.  In the end of the movie, she actually single-handedly saves the Emperor of China, with a little help from her faithful dragon Mushu.  If your child is one of the many who has seen and loves the movie Mulan, then a Mulan themed birthday party might be just the thing to get them excited.  You could have life-size replicas of each of the characters built out of wood or cardboard and place them randomly throughout the party venue.  This would give the place a more Mulan-like feel.  All of your silverware, cups, and plates should be Mulan themed and the birthday girl, or boy, could actually be dressed up as Mulan.  This would make them feel extra special on their special day.  The birthday party invitations for a Mulan themed birthday party could be very creative.  You could have your own custom kids birthday party invitations made, or try to find some generic Mulan themed cards.  If you have purchased a Mulan costume for the birthday boy or girl, then you might want to have her go around, dressed as Mulan, and give out the birthday party invitations in person.
